Dear Letter Drop readers,
This week, I spent a good amount of hours in my studio, alone in silence, and did a bunch of drawings in my sketchbook and iPad. But as it should be, I wasn’t super excited about all of them. First drafts kinda need to be messy, right?!
Some may turn into fully rendered illustrations soon, but some might remain this way. For however it turns out, it’s still great to explore new ideas and imagine what the next steps will be for them.
Here are some rough drawings I had on my iPad this week. I absolutely love using this neutral-toned background for my drawings these days. For some reason, it gives me less pressure to face the white blank space.
My recurring topic is a kid’s solo adventure into the unknown… with a little companion. It’s something I enjoy the most, long for, and have always hoped for.
Do you have a favorite you’d want to see in full color? What are your go-to drawing topics?
Can’t wait to move to the next steps and share the final art! Have a wonderful week, and enjoy the warmer weather!
Sincerely,
Cindy 💌
